Re: Project 1
Wow! Just...wow!
I am amazed that it only took you a month, you must have worked extremely hard.
So the old engine was an EW. You needed to completely changed the wiring loom, I was wondering how you made the car happy with the new engine.
Does the new engine run on gas or was the cylinder for the old engine? I cannot see anything of it on the engine.
I can see an automatic transmission shift on the speedometer, is the new engine automatic? Was the old engine too?

That's amazing.
Looks more like you have fitted your 406 to a different engine.

Hi Doggy, yes, since I decide to put a new engine in, might as well go for the best.
Thanks, Jonsowman.
Hi Welly, Yes, a lot of hard work and lot's of late nights especially the wiring.
The whole wiring system came in new and that's the hard part. But once finished, everything is running smooth. Now it's 4 months with this new engine and I have had only two small faults. One is the "Air Bag" light and another is the "anti pollution" fault light. I replaced the "anti pollution" sensor at the catalyst and that was solved but I still get the "Air Bag" warning light blinking.
Yes, the engine is running 91 or 95 octane only and it has the automatic transmission. Very smooth gear change so far. Quick acceleration and a top speed of 220kph was attained. It's still going strong but I decide that's it for now. Maybe after I have the 17inch BBS, I will try top end again and post here.
The whole front end was also upgraded. Suspension, brakes everything. I also have Xenon lights.
I also have the electric folding side mirrors and remote lock for the car. Next stage is the 17 inch BBS wheels and a pair of electric front seats which should arrive by end of this month. The originals are all manual. Maybe an upgrade sound system and an electric rear view mirror. I will update more pics later.
If anyone can recommend any tune up parts for this 406 please advice. Here in Thailand, we do not have any dealers for parts. I hope to perfect this car as much as I can. I appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Jonsowman.
