If you do find one that you like here are a few things to check to save on a big expence later:
Gearbox: Check all gears to see if there is any high pitched noise.
Bushes: Check the bushes to make sure there is no knocking. D8's which have done high miles tend to need rear bushes.
Suspension: Have a quick look to make sure there are no leaks on any of the front shocks.
I've just seen one here that you might like. It looks to be in good condition. He's got service history and he wants £500 for it..
It's not Diesel, but it's a 1.8 Petrol. Still not bad for £500.
