That's a real proper bargain even if it does need some work.

I am so pleased I have been able to share this experience with you and that most of you have seen Miss Pug. :)
I would like to thank you all for your advice on the car, no doubt when I have it here you'll all be needed with information too...
Now it's been bought for a bit cheaper than expected I may well just take it to an exhaust specialist in town and tell them to sort her out... that said.....
They did say they would fit the parts IF I managed to get them cheaper elsewhere, so as long as we 100% know they will fit I should be fine - they did say they've had many people turn up with parts, car on ramp in bits, then the parts don't actually fit... if that happens they'll charge me!

If you buy your own exhaust pipes, it's barely worth taking it to a garage as they are so easy to fit.... Do it at the same time as when you remove the DPF - or rather bash the crap out of it!

When you say exhaust specialist, is this somewhere that just fits exhaust's or somewhere that builds systems from scratch?, (places like power flow etc)

I would look for the later type of place (not necessarily power flow as they are a franchise and some are not that good) and get a quote for them to replace the whole system.

Also seriously consider a stainless system, it may cost a bit more but should out live the car so work out cheaper in the long run.

If you're getting someone to fix the exhaust, either get them to smash out the DPF while they're at it, or if that offends their sensibilities, get them to remove / refit the DPF after you 'adjust' it, (with a large hammer & chisel). :supafrisk:
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Must admit asked them about removal of the DPF and they said yeah ok fine just be warned it won't run properly afterwards, I told them I didn't care and I would get it running right...
I can't wait to pick it up... :D Was busy screaming running and jumping around the house earlier, now I have it out my system I can actually sleep tonight.........

Can I ask a really stupid question and ask if the flexi down pipe has a cat IN it?
Reason I ask is, I just phoned MPD and have been quoted £350+vat for a part I found on eBay for £30 (for a 2.0 HDi)

Woman on the phone said it ''looked like'' the pipe had a cat in it and then gave me that quote.
The only part they keep in stock is the back box and I won't be using a standard back box - so they are as good as useless...

So, people - will that 2.0 HDi flexi downpipe fit? According to eBay it won't........
