Service Box Question

Post by Doggy »

Is there a method for looking up which models a particular part no. was used on?
I'm trying to find what cars were originally fitted with the 'correct' 6-speed gear knob, black leather/aluminium, (2403AH).
Anybody know?

TIA
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Stick it in the search box :?

Into Service Box, select any car, part number into the search box - it'll either come up with results for the car you're looking at or it won't, either way you can then look for parts across all cars by selecting (...ummm... hold on...) "Launch the search on all vehicle families" - it'll give you a list of cars:

1 document(s) found for 2008
1 document(s) found for 607
1 document(s) found for 308 (T9)
1 document(s) found for 307
3 document(s) found for 308
1 document(s) found for 607 RESTYLING
1 document(s) found for 307 RESTYLING
1 document(s) found for 3008
3 document(s) found for Expert 3
9 document(s) found for 807
1 document(s) found for 208
1 document(s) found for 407
1 document(s) found for 5008

The model number is a link, if you want to see which car(s) it's talking about you can click it and it'll bring up which it is. Then you can click the "launch the search on all vehicle families" again to get back to the list.

Do you have Citroen Service?

Hold on...

3 document(s) found for C4 (B7) - DS4
1 document(s) found for C4 PICASSO
1 document(s) found for C5
1 document(s) found for DS3
3 document(s) found for C5 (X7)
1 document(s) found for C4
1 document(s) found for C5 II
3 document(s) found for DISPATCH III
1 document(s) found for C4 PICASSO (B78)
9 document(s) found for C8
2 document(s) found for C3 PICASSO
1 document(s) found for C6
2 document(s) found for C3 (A51)

Hold on, Dispatch 3? :?

Many thanks, steve.

Not sure if it's the right one, (should have a lift symbol for reverse, which is maybe spitting hairs), looks too small in diameter - maybe it's just the 'badge' off the top?

I'll give them a ring......

That is the real thing, (cheaper to go to Pug than pay the postage).
I might call for a real price, since i've found it different to SB on a few occasions

This is the same as my 407 one.

Eric, I'll take a look in the breakers where I got the other stuff from tomorrow, there was a 407 SW awaiting clearance, maybe it's ready for breaking.

Does the gear knob just unscrew?

Thank's John, I'd appreciate you taking a look, but I think the 407 is a bright chrome finish and the 406 is matt alumium style.

(I guess you now have both, so maybe you're best placed to tell)!

AFAIK it just pulls off, but takes a bit of shifting + precautions to avoid embossing your forehead with the gear change diagram.

My 407 has a shiny chrome type finish, but the 406 has a shiny black finish with shiny chrome finish numbers.

My 1.8 petrol had a shiny black finish with shiny chrome finish numbers.

My Coupe has something that looks exactly like the 407 black-on-aluminium one, except that it has 5 gears plus lift-reverse, not 6 gears plus lift-reverse.

Only just managed to get round to the scrap yard today.

Gear knob has already gone...as has most of the car, very little left on it already
