406 HDI X INSTRUMENT FAILURE

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

406 HDI X INSTRUMENT FAILURE

Post by womble171 »

Hi all

Was wondering if anyone can help me please? My brother has a 2000 x 406 110hdi and the instrument is not getting any communication from BSI. I have swapped the BSI over with one I bought for my car when I was having all my problems, but it still won't work? Also, when the key is taken out of the ignition the fan and time and date display stay illuminated....this lasts about a minute or so then drops out for a few seconds then comes back on? The lights, indicators, wipers etc are all working but not showing up on the instrument cluster as well as speedo and other dials down? I put it on planet and it's just saying "no communication between BSI and the ecus of comfort circuit" , no communication with instrument panel, A/C and display. It also said something about DATA BAR LIVE?.
Any ideas guys???

you cant just swap over the bsi, you need the bsi and also the matching ecu that goes with it as well as the transponder from the key all from the donor car, unless the bsi you have has been virginised...ie an e new one.
