Present ideas?

I've been looking for B41 LES for ages to no avail as I'd pay good money for it!

The only other numberplate that even represents anything near my name is S444 BAY. There is no suffix style SJB numberplates left!

I see B3LL 3ND and KNO8 ED are already taken... Shame that because if your vein enough to want one you might aswell have what it says about you.

I understand his dilemma. My mum and girlfriend are also nagging me about what I want for Christmas and I just don't know! I'd rather they got something that the thought about not just buy me whatever I ask them. It's the thought process, even if that something isn't something I wanted....

I hate Christmas and the whole concept of it. Why don't you set a limit of £15.00 each and get a 'token' present, something daft from one of these gift-ideas places and put the rest of the money towards something useful, like living

Sorry to be miserable but I can't see the point of spending so much money when clearly you don't need anything - the best present you can give is to tell your parents to keep the money and use it for something that they want.

Tell your GF that this year you will both forego presents to help with the new house costs (and there'll be plenty of those).

BTW if anyone would like to visit me on xmas day you're more than welcome, I've allotted a visit time-slot of between 13:00 and 13:01 during which time there will be a new visitors Induction lasting 45 seconds and you will be issued a visitors day-pass which normally takes around 10 seconds.

I don't mind Christmas, I just wish they'd stop showing all these religious programs on the telly, they're very dull (yeah, I know )

I'm with Welly on the cheap gift idea, why do we need to spend a small fortune on garbage nobody wants every year? I've long since released all my family and friends from the necessity of buying me anything, which leaves me free to buy nothing for them as well. I'm not a cheap bastard though, if my wife wants/needs something then I'll buy it for her (providing she can justify it in writing ) and I don't need any specific event to force me into doing it.

Actually, what I've said for many years is, rather than try to guess what everyone wants, at Christmas we should buy our own selves something that we want, but couldn't really justify the expense. Or nothing, if that's what we want. If everyone did this then we could all go around symbolically thanking everyone else and no-one would need to feel guilty or short-changed.

I can't see why this wouldn't work for birthdays too - "Happy birthday! What did you get yourself?" "I got me a 3 speed vibrating pencil sharpener with floor polisher and dildo attachments, it's fantastic - thankyou!"

Back in 2006 I was forced to extend our overdraft in December to cover the present-buying bollox.........since then we vowed never to get stuck like that again. I still remember on Christmas day me and the wife, skint, looking at what people had bought for us (all complete shyte) and thinking what a waste of time and money the whole thing was; we'd effectively borrowed money to pay for this

Don't get me wrong, when the kids were small they had loads of stuff and we were happy to see them opening presents (and play with the empty boxes) but now although I enjoy being off work over xmas (it's the ONLY time of the year I can have proper time off) the rest of it I could cheerfully cancel.
