Courtesy and boot lights
Any ideas where to start looking for non-working courtesy/boot lights?
They work manually with ignition on and the puddle lights work as they should and the map light is fine so not bulb or power related.
Would the courtesy light work off a different fuse to the manual setting and puddle lights?
Presumably having the puddle lights working rules out the switches in the doors?
No biggy but still quite annoying with the dark winter mornings and evenings.
I did have to replace a few of the super tough and durable sill clips on the drivers side at the weekend so there is a possibility of water ingress through the door seals but I would have thought I'd have more electrical gremlins if the connector block had gone for a swim and the carpets feel dry taking into account always having wet shoes just lately from the weather.
I'll probably check for moisture and rusty pins anyway when I can get it in a warm dry garage, but previous posts on the subject seem to display many problems but no mention of courtesy lights.
Any thoughts?

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
I'll try a BSI reset and see if that works, are there any issues with resetting the BSI on a remapped car I need to know about?
Presumably not as its been flashed not chipped but it doesn't hurt to ask

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
As you surmise, the courtesy lights work off of a different fuse when it's not being run by the BSI. Boot lamp, BSI again.
Not details inside the BSI for the 26-way blue connector
The BSI fuse diagram doesn't show what's on fuse B (second from the right) but it's not any of the others (you'd notice lots of other stuff not working too)
I wonder if this sort of stuff could actually be turned off in the BSI

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
Does the glove box light work?
yes, then fuse ok
glove box light is on same fuse according to puglogic fuse list.

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
I think the problem is stuff that's switched by the BSI, like the interior lights when you open a door and the boot light (why?). The stuff that's regularly fused, like the map reading light and glovebox light (presumably) are ok.

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
Glove box light works with ignition on but not with ignition off, I'm assuming that's correct as my D8 is the same?
I'll try a BSI reset when I have time in the daylight.
If for some reason it's been turned off in the BSI are there any PP owners near Telford?

All sorted, it had l.e.d's fitted, swapped them for normal bulbs and I can now see to fasten my daughter into her car seat when it goes dark

Re: Courtesy and boot lights
I'd love to take credit for diagnosing the fault but what I actually did was PM Alex who sold me the car and he said it had led's and should work as normal with standard bulbs.
The led's were great if you were sat in the car with the engine running and needed to read something as they're a lot brighter than standard, but rubbish when the engines off and your trying to locate a seat belt around a five year old in the dark!
