SRS Light No Worky!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

SRS Light No Worky!

Post by bigjohn333 »

Gents,

In the pursuit of perfection.... coming from a lexus owner

The MOT Certificate said "SRS light does not light up upon ignition"

Now there is an amber light with a driver with a seatbelt and an airbag to the side i.e for the side airbags, but no red SRS light.

Is this working? Can you take the bulb out or is it an LED?

I'm still waiting for Lexia 3 to arrive but any help in the meantime is appreciated.

It's usually one of the two-pin connecets under the front seats, (seat belt pre-tensioners, curtain air bags if fitted).
Mostly you can localise the fault/temporary fix by unplugging/replugging them in turn.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I think this is the other way around, it's not the usual airbag light on check the connectors jobby, it's more the light doesn't come on at all, ever.

I don't think we get a specific SRS light (not that I can remember anyway).

This is from a 2002 but I don't think there's any difference:

22 - Air bags warning light.
27 - Passenger air bag disarming warning light.

Here's what PP2000 says about the problem?

Sound like the bulb has been pulled?

Also is the seatbelt trigger under the passenger or drivers seat on this?

"seat belt trigger 1. open circuit" A quick Google says seat belt pretensioner on the PASSENGER (i.e. l/h) seat

I'm not finding anything on the warning lamp, I suspect if they are LEDs then it would be hard to remove it...
