Post by Quinny »

Just browsing E.Bay for some parts for my new ride, and came across someone breaking a 406 and using a picture OF MY CAR!!!!!!!

Anyone else had this problem?

No, oh wait, make that a yes.

I had a snap of my old 406, and when it was advertised on Gumtree it somehow ended up on Autotrader somewhere else in the UK..!

I guess someone somewhere has a rubbish version of your car and wants a decent image to go with their advert - is it flattery or is it fraud..?? Hmmmm.....

Well, it's your photo. Tell them to remove it.

Complain to ebay, if you took the photograph then the ownership belongs to you - if someone wants to use it they would have to ask your permission or use the photo but include a link to the source of it (in other words this is not my photo, it can be viewed here etc) which then acknowledges you as the owner under intellectual property blah blah..

This is what comes with the internet, anything you post up, say, or upload is then free for all to see and comment on (or take copies of) this is why cars in particular very often have the plates blanked-out.

Not pictures of my cars but a while ago, a picture of my eldest.......
A ''glamor model'' stole the picture of him and put it on her website and posed he was her kids ''best friend'' Incidentally, my son when he appeared on her website had his name changed too, weirdly this woman who I'd known for a while actually had a bit of an obsession with me, fell pregnant the year later and aimed to have her kid the same birthday as my eldest...... she was a day out - and by the way it's her kids b-day today...... coincidence

(My eldest was 9 yesterday, where does the time fly?)
