12 - 155, what?! How? Why?

Post by Sonia406 »

I had a range of only 12 miles when I topped up only £10
Now, I have a range of 155 miles

Surprising enough, then I looked at the fuel guage on the dash... errr light was on, now gained half a tank?

Is this going to 'settle' over night to a true fuel level... if not, why would it read that high?

Anyone else had this?

I'm not exactly fond of this car, hence it's dirtier than minging appearance.. I just have no love for it...

So, does it settle down? Miss Pug never had this problem..
Up until now it had read, well - accurately.. but now I've seen this on only £10 I'm a bit like, what the fook?!
Is there a fix for it?

Thnx

That's what i was going to say maybe she reset the trip after putting that tooth full of diesel in and coasted the car home, Don't explain the half tank though does it.

Me? Coast? Pahaha
Didn't reset the trip computer..
I'm hoping it settles down over night... I'm pretty sure that my tank was on reserve because I slowly watched the range go down, it didn't suddenly jump etc!

Well I treated mine to a full tank of the good stuff and the first half tank got me 180 miles!

I'm hoping its purely down to me being rather heavy footed and playing with the extra power I now have and it will settle down to more reasonable usage. Finding I've got extra fuel would be a real bonus :cheesy:

Ahem, 180 miles should only be the first quarter tank aka around 30 quid valleys driving.... Behave yourself.

Fuel tank is 60 litres... there's no way that £10 of diesel = 30 litres!
Purely logical.......
Hope it settles over night because I can't be doing with a dodgy fuel guage...

Weird but does diesel expand once it warms up ?
someone told me always to fuel up from petrol station first thing on a frosty morning

other than that ithink these French motors is full of Mogwais.
