all the diesel models and petrol models with a/c or a turbo had twin fans, only the petrol models without turbo and without a/c had a single cooling fan
so he wil have twin fans

they fitted two fans coz the twats at peugeot knew one would fail so they gave you a spare just incase, actaully i have no idea why they put two fans, as diesel's run colder than a petrol engine, but overheat quicker so maybe they thought two fans running slower than one big one would be more efficient?
i have no idea, just another un-explainable pug thing

Its all about CFM.... well ok mostly

2 fans operating @ 6v flow more air than one @ 12 due to their surface coverage.. this isn't the only thing though... Peugeot actually included a second fan for the A/C, when the A/C is on during summer, both fans may switch up to full 12v and provide max CFM to both A/C and coolant, during colder climate both fans typically only run @ 6v.

In some instances only one fan will run and at 6v, the fan control system comprises of so many different aspects...
  • 2 Fans
  • 3 Relays - both +ives and the -tive are switched
  • Fan ECM
  • Bitron Temp sensor's, typically 2 - 3 of them
And they wonder why they have so many electrical gremlins !

both fans will only run at full speed with the a/c on if the system pressure goes to high
