Heating elecs
As promised in my intro, here is my question...... Is there a fuse connecting the display unit of the outside temp and the blower? My outside temp display has always worked and when the blowers stopped the other day, so did it. I have checked the fuses to the right of the steeringwheel, no joy, they appear to be n tact, im hoping this is an easy fix as nothing in denmark is cheap ( apart from me, but im an import) any help would be appreciated, thanks matt
Re: Heating elecs
Hello..Have you checked the fuse's under the bonnet ?

Blower died in my old D8, they do fail and need replacing unfortunately. Mine wasn't fitted with an exterior temp sensor though, so I doubt it's related. Can you check if there's voltage at the blower motor terminals?

Re: Heating elecs
HI & welcome aboard, Matt
Went for a weekend in Copenhagen many moons ago - it was reasuringly expensive, but I do recall seeing quite a few drunken Swedes staggering aboard a ferry back home, (even dearer in Sweden, apparently)!
MY bro's D8 failed in a similar way, bur his was only a burnt up power connector on the base of the blower, which we bypassed.

Popped out for a Danish, by any chance?60dart wrote:nothing in denmark is cheap ( apart from me, but im an import)

Re: Heating elecs
im going to bypass the lot tomorrow and check if the blower itself works, might rig up a temp thing so i can use the car. i think its strange that the outside temp display went at the same time.... cant see in the owners manual where the fuse for this display is either,. i will yank the big ones out under the bonnet 1 by 1 tomorrow also, its now about -4 and black outside, dont want to leave the fire.
copenhagen is extortionately expensive. i think the last time i went for a beer it was £7, after i got up, i went home.

Re: Heating elecs
thanks for that, unfortunately it wasnt that, 20fuse is doing well. i have heard there is a 40 fuse near the steering wheel but i must be blind as i cant find it.lozz wrote:

Re: Heating elecs
Re the outside temp sender...there isn't a separate fuse for this. It's just a two wire circuit from sender to BSI, (blue connector, terms 20 & 24.)

Re: Heating elecs
Could still be related to your fault, just saying there isn't a separate fuse that's all!60dart wrote:ok so i guess it has nothing to do with the heater wiring then..? as they both stopped at the same time.
