Hello peeps, i thought i would pop on here and introduce myself. My names matt, live in denmark, have a 406 deisel, non turbo ( amazingly it can actually get to 70mph in about a week) took the car with me when i moved. Found this site while looking for answers to electrical probs,i am sure a few of you might know the kind of thing. I will be posting questions about the heating elecs soon, as its -5 and no blowers this time of year is just stupid. Well, speak soon. Matt

Welcome! A 1.9 non turbo? I didn't think they were ever fitted to the 406, but perhaps that's just in the UK.

The XUD9TE (1.9 turbo) wasn't the quickest of engines so I can only imagine what the non-turbo one is like :supafrisk:

I knew they made a 1.9D but obviously it was never made available in the UK.

They have smaller brakes too! 266mm I believe!

Any idea what fuel pump it has? Bosch or Lucas?

Any change of an engine bay picture?

Hi mate, welcome.

My 306 XUD is very reliant on glowplugs - even when the engine is warm..!! The wifes old non-turbo diesel was surprisingly quick round town, just a bit of a let down on hills..

We think the 1.9D, 1.9 TD auto and 1.6 petrol, "never made it to the UK".
We have not however, ruled out the possibility they may still be on the way.
