PP2000/Lexia3

Post by gumby6371 »

Now I have 2 pugs on the drive which were built this century I'm seriously considering picking up PP2000.
After a quick Google there appears to be some at around £40 and some in the £70+ area, I'm at work so can't dig around properly.

Are they the same thing or do I need to go for a specific one for a 53 plate 406 and a 54 plate 307?

Thanks in advance as per usual and expect another post soon entitled 'PP2000 how the f*%k do I use it'

My PP2000 clone works on everything I've tried up to around 2007.

AFAIK the going rate is around £70 / £75. If you're tempted by something cheaper, post a link to it and one of us 'users' will vet it for you.

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Yep, £70 seems like the going rate.
You may be able to pick up the hardware for less... we can provide a disc...

I have PP2k working on my 2007 407. The 508 is absent from the menus. Even so, I think that's just a software thing and not a difference in the hardware.

For newer models you need diagbox rather than PP2k. I've failed to install it a couple of times, but Jasper5 has a working installation.

For the 406, anything contemporary with the car is all you need, so PP2k is fine.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Diagbox is awful - Fisher Price interface is S-L-O-W on my Core2Duo laptop. I have it working but I can't seem to get it working alongside Lexia/PP2000 - so it's one or the other. I've chosen Lexia3/PP2000...

I've heard cheaper ones sometimes don't come with all the cabling but I've only ever needed the OBDII one so far...

Never mind me I was talking twaddle.

Searching at work I couldn't get into most of the sites and just got the item price, the cheaper ones didn't include P&P which basically brought it up to the £70 mark.
