Arrgghhhh the nightmares, I went through the windscreen in one of those after my drunk girlfriend decided the mountain road would be a safer journey with less cops.... That sounds familiar. The main reasons there are so few left is because of rust and because loads ended up parked in ditches.......upside down !

In the late 70s My mates Dad had a 3 litre mk1 capri that was vita racing tuned it was so powerful he kept 2 paving stones in the boot to keep the back down for traction
