Locks and indicators
My lad just phoned me he's working nights and as he was locking his car the indicators started flashing and doors locking and unlocking. He disconnected the battery and then reconnected it and it locked ok. Will do a reset tomorrow and then look at door wiring at weekend. It is a 53 plate hdi, anyone had this problem? Suggestions please. Thanks.

Re: Locks and indicators
Maybe a loose / dodgy quick-release battery connector - had one on my Xsara, caused all sorts of mayhem.
Suggest you check up on the battery disconnection procedure in the KB first.........

Re: Locks and indicators
Connections underneath the carpet was my first thought.
Yeah I have read the battery disconnect re 3 minute delay to let bsi go to sleep and how to wake it up again.
Hopefully it will be something simple as he is moving house on Friday and I don't really want to be fixing cars and helping him move.
Thanks for the info.
Might put my battery on his car see if that makes a difference as he always has a lot of drain on at the moment going to work in the dark and coming home at 3 in the morning.

Re: Locks and indicators
Brilliant. Went out to jump in my car to go over and fix the other one and , nothing. First non start in 3 years, battery had gone flat overnight.
Well they say it comes in threes so can't wait for the next one.

Re: Locks and indicators
Sometimes it can be the locking mechanism in the door (Usually the passenger side (Left hand side)), the way I used to fix it on my old 406, was that I would just give it several good whacks on the door card around where the lock is. Do both or all 4 doors for good measure.
Re: Locks and indicators
The lock problem turned out to be the switch on the drivers door near the lever that opens the door. It must have been stuck, pulled it a little harder and all's good.
