270bhp is just being greedy

LOL..... I've already passed the 170hp mark and its great fun! lol
As for the speedo, I was actually going to say, with a power drill attached to the engine speed sensor lol

it will never pass an mot on carbs, and throttle bodies are just way too expensive, if i was gonna go for some mad n/a power then i may as get a gti6 or mi16 lump and start with that
the supercharger will be a lot cheaper, i can use the gti cams and manifold then get a mini supercharger and a huge intercooler and some pipe work and some sort of piggy-back management and stay with standard internals all for arround £500 whereas the throttle bodies fitted and set up and remaped could be anything arround £2000 and the power band would be hopeless in the 406

a mini supercharger will take too much work to mount and plumb in the 406... your better off going for a universal Eaton charger, instead of that specifically designed for the mini

the mini superchargers go so cheaply on ebay though, and it wouldnt take that much effort to fit, just make up some brackets to fit it below and just a bit further forward than the pas pump and then just get a longer belt

My '6 has been relegated to 'shopping car and get the other arf to work' status, but it may still well be taking us all to the Scillies on holiday in August (although i'll be sensible this year and whack the car on a ferry for the final leg). Might use the 407SW, but TBH there's only 3 of us, and one of use is 10, so our luggage will easily go in the 6's boot, and it's use less juice. As good as the '7 is looking, the '6 is still a hard act to beat.
