605 3.0 V6 on ebay

Post by FarmerPug »

These are getting quite rare:

Would it make sense trying to fix the v6, or just rip it out and put a 2.1 td in instead?
It seems like a tidy car, although £900 is a bit steep.

£200 would be the right sort of money for the 605 and its still taking a risk.

The fords also a bit risky, how good were their 4x4 systems, are parts easy to find for them?

I think if i was going to put a 4x4 system into another car id get one that is as common as possible like an audi or subaru system, with plenty of cars out there that can donate parts.

What's so rare about the 605? Mate of mine had a V6 SVE Auto (UK Import) - nice car, but not my cup of tea!
1997 406 D8 ST Manual 2.0L!

Put a PRV V6 Turbo from a Renault Alpine GTA into it, wind up the boost. Winning.

The 605 has been re listed, now at £750, still too expensive.

Would a V6 out of a D8 406, Xantia, or XM be the same as the V6 fitted to this car?

looks very tidy for its age.

the 406 in background of one of the photo's looks rather posh.
