pp2000 install problems

Post by gumby6371 »

So I've installed PP2000 on my laptop but I'm struggling with activation of version PP2000-25.01
Can anybody help?

My bad, I was typing the version number in wrong!

Too late to test on car now but I'm off work tomorrow so I'll have a play with it then

Luck....

If it works straight out the box, please tell us how it's done.

I've installed it 8 times in the last week (due to a hardware problem in the end) so I've got the process pretty much spot on :supafrisk:

So....all up and running and just spent 10 minutes clearing all the fault codes and re-ran the global test, the results are;

Engine ECU - Permanent fault - pre/post heating relay circuit - relay opened
Engine ECU - Permanent fault - pre/post heating relay circuit - relay stuck
Diesel fuel additive control unit - intermittent fault - additive pump

A couple of others relating to a missing cd changer and the sat nav cd reader but nothing else

Anything to worry about?

I did clear a fault relating to boost pressure but I'll investigate that if it comes back, I'll probably run it again at the weekend and see if any new entries have hit the charts

Very common: either you need new glow plugs or a new glow plug relay.
The DW12s seem to eat glow plugs, presumably because they're used when regenerating.

Fuel additive is the DPF stuff, so that probably should have been mapped out.

If in PP2000 you un-install the CD changer then that should deal with that.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Starting ok at the moment so I'll worry about that later, the map is the generic 180 so presumably all cars will have that fault?

Nearly every HDi I've plugged mine into shows a pre-post heating error of some sort. I just ignore it.

That sounds like a plan, when it starts to struggle to fire I'll look at it.

BTW when running planet I left it with ignition on, can it be run with engine running?

I was faffing about a fair bit and was wondering how you'd manage with cars with a poor battery?

You have to have the engine running for the parameter measurements, so yes, no problem.
