On Board Computer fault - no Display

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I come from an electronics background and have very little experience with car electronics so be kind but correct me if i'm approaching this from the wrong angle. I would guess if this happened during a jump then a surge will to be blame so I would find the schematic of the unit and firstly check the voltage rails are still present on the board. I would assume the backlight for the LCD works off 12v so I would say the 12v rail is still present and correct. If the digital display side of things is off then you may find a 3.3v or 5v rail is missing. Thats a good starting point.

Iv been looking for a pin out or schematic for the unit but cant see one. I don't have much spare time but if anyone has this its a good place to start here.

Wellidunodoi?

Not having ever seen a sat nav display in the flesh I don't know what they look like in the dark...

I stuck mine into Sedre earlier, there was only about 5 wires actually connected into it :? One is mux but I suspect this is a power issue otherwise it'd be saying - - - or similar.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16187&p=158895&hili ... am#p158895 Although it's probably not as important now I know I can use mine (& hopefully Pug didn't sod around with it)

Mutifunction screen electrical diagram (a la my car). I'd put the electrical diagram on but it doesn't show anything different and this is clearer. Red wires are mux...

Must dash...

Might I respectfully ask that you get in touch with member 'jonsowman' on here....I think he was after dead ones to see if they could be resurrected by reflowing the ribbon cable joints.
