Re: Central heating.
Are you sure he was a plumber? once the cylinder was out you only have to connect to the 1 feed pipe from that and all hot taps should be fed with hot water or you blank that off and connect to any hot supply pipe and all hot taps should work.

Re: Central heating.
You will want to get someone else in to complete the work and give it a proper safety inspection.
Gas central heating systems can be lethal (gas leaks, etc) and damaging to property (water leaks causing rot) if incorrectly installed. You don't want that.

Re: Central heating.
I think I am very lucky bought my house in 1982 fitted a second hand Neatahet 10-16 in all this time I have replaced the 10 pin control relay twice and a fuse on the control pcb. At this time of the year 6c outside it heats my 3 bed semi with the heat control set to minimum I have a room stat and all 7 rads have thermostatic valves fitted, hot water is set at 50 degrees. I cook by gas hob but electric oven I pay about £40 a month.

Re: Central heating.
Well. its all gone pear shaped.
The old rads are F*cked
JB weld & rad = fail.
so Back to plan B. Buy new rads im thinking plastic pipe & pushfits,
Plumber is back again tomorow to tidy up a few water pipes,. he was abit shy with the solder, drips here & there.
iwill get him to fix them and then send him in direction of gates.

Re: Central heating.
Well 2 and half grand lighter and we are getting there,
nightmare, all the pipes are out and replaced with plastic, tanks are gone less condensation a'spose.,
water bills might come in cheaper now,
The hot water on demand is good, straight hose pipe to tap with brush me thinks, hot wash for the cars,

Re: Central heating.
Splendid, that doesn't sound too bad, considering you live in Blenheim Palace
Btw who got the scrap value on all the old copper then?
It's quite handy in the winter having a hot wash, it slices through all the ice crud that builds up under the Yoyo, I didn't manage to shatter a window yet either.
That is, if it ever snows here this year
It's mad, Siberia in the States, the UK's under 10 feet of water but here the tourists are piste off because there's not enough snow to ski on - "Vell, I guess I vill have to run into ze trees instead"
