I got the cd and opened up the wiring diagram, a bit of an issue is my cousin can't find the switch :cheesy:, its sitting around somewhere hopefully it will wire back in ok and start the car.

One thing though is the various audi forums don't seem to respond, i joined about 5 or 6 forums and didn't get a reply from one.

That's because they just send the car to Audi and get royally ripped off.....and then post a thread about how expensive it was  those (and the BMW) forums are not as 'hands on' as this one.

I hope you and your cousin get the car running ok.

Quite true, the kia forum seems to be a bit like that aswell, with the word "warranty" being used regularly, i wanted to know how to remove the radio to put a bluetooth kit in my dads ceed for christmas, not a single reply, so when i had the job done i wrote up a full explanation on how to do it and posted a video of how to do it aswell.
It was rebelling, but in a very productive way :cheesy:

Ive been off doing exams the past week, he did manage to get it into neutral the last time i was talking to him but still had to get the switch unit mounted into the car.

Nope, i don't think anyone wants to do the same as they are afraid of the warranty, i doubt though that a parrot kit can invalidate a cars warranty it was all plug and play, no wires were cut and it can be put back to normal very quickly.

I have to say though that they kia warranty is quite good, my dad asked me to write a list of anything that might need looked at on the car, there was a slow passenger window, the boot badge was flaking, the gear change had got a bit notchy in the cold weather and a plastic cap was missing on the wiper arm, they fixed everything.

We eventually got the wires that were needed, out of the 9 wires 8 matched up perfectly the last one wasn't an exact match, anyhow my cousin wired it in and the car started up, but now its stuck in 3rd gear. It drives, very slow to start up and and only gets up to about 60, so it has to go to an auto electrician to get properly looked at.

As for the engine its running nicely, it doesn't sound great jammed in 3rd gear, but in neutral when allowed to rev there is nothing that sounds like a v6, it has to be one of the nicest sounding engine layouts.
The trip computer at the moment is showing an average of 11.7 mpg, the gearbox issue probably has a lot to do with that, i can't imagine a 3.2 v6 is as bad as that.
