A 605 SVE '24', allegedly stored since new (as I can tell, although they don't give a mileage) but with a borked engine; half of which is thrown in the boot

I wonder if it was one of those 'fell out with the Peugeot Dealer' sad stories.
FP linked that one ages' ago,
ithink its abit overpriced,

Crooked numbers don't always mean it's been clocked...

Seems ok to me, budget for a new engine though.

The seller said it's been stored 17 years which takes it back to 1997 but given it's an R-reg then how do you cover 72K in less than a year?

Cheers for the close-up, I was trying to check the miles myself :cheesy:

I don't think it did, I think the seller is a little confused over how long its been stored.

And for something very British (sans any tin-worm by the looks) quite incredible:

Excellent

The seller seems to be a little confused about which car they're selling:
Safety Features: Driver Airbag (in 1976?)
Exterior: Alloy Wheels (with hub caps  )
Interior/Comfort Options: Air Conditioning (yep, just open a window)
Model: 1500 VDP 5 Speed (including reverse)
Leather seats (made from genuine rubber cows)

I wonder if Clarkson will be bidding on this one... :supafrisk:

Didn't the Allegro have the Hydrolastic sussy? or am I dreaming?

My mates Dad had one when I was at school, I remember riding in it once and being rather underwhelmed.........compared to my Dad's Austin Princess* that is.

Umm, I think so but I can't be bothered to look. Oooh yeah, dig that groovy square steering wheel  My granddad had one, so did my brother, interesting "got glue everywhere" design on the interior. It was an estate, same colour as the Van De Puss in the ad, with a front wing painted with rattle cans 'cos my sis-in-law hit a skip with it.
Welly wrote:*oh the rust, the rust.......
Eees not rust, eees alloy - a mixture of steel and, erm, oxygen.

I don't remember much about wedges apart from they dropped driveshafts. And the rust of course, wheel arches fallng off etc I remember when I was a kid being told not to lift up the mat in the back of the Morris and look at the road going under the car. I don't actually remember if it was a Mini or a Minor now but it was almost 50 years ago.

'Sandglow' if I'm not mistaken.

If you like old motors/restorations have a look at this place: http://autoshite.com/topic/14673-1981-a ... 01-update/ but beware you will be in there a long time, there's some brilliant input from the members there if you look around.

I never know whether it's good or bad to look at that sort of thing, I don't have the patience or the cash for it...

Just looking through the "classic" cars on ebay, some people don't seem to have much idea of what "classic" actually means, Mk1 escort yes, 2001 BMW oh do f*ck off

I didn't think "convertible" meant it converts into an ashtray http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1958-Corvette ... 3a89e62b6e

That's what I was wondering, maybe the lump survived or something. I doubt it though, with all that plastic I'd expect it burned seriously hot. I wonder if it was insured, it wasn't something you could drive every day. Or maybe the insurance is why it looks like that :?
