Fogs on 2000 hdi 406 executive estate

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Fogs on 2000 hdi 406 executive estate

Post by Ady1985 »

I've taken bulbs out and replaced them for the rear fogs but no show. I didnt get the hand book for car to tell me about fuses and which did what.
Read on here about it been fuse 19, but with no handbook or haynes manual yet I dont know which fuse it is and I dont want to start pulling fuses out and find I break something lol

Any info would be great.

How? Front fogs are H1's, rear(s) are P21 21W AFAIK.

The fuse(s) will be in the engine fusebox, can't tell which numbers as your semi-mux D9 is different to mine and any documentation I have access to.
Safe bet it/they will be 10A, (it's got 4 for the dip & mian beams). You could check them all fairly quickly.

Looks like it's two fuses and a relay - engine compartment fuse panel, fuses 30 & 31. I'm guessing your build code here so don't take it as gospel.

I don't suppose two fuses blowing at once is all that likely so maybe the relay, although as the car is new to you anything's possible.

Does the warning light come on? Looks like it's fed off of one of the light feeds, the other side of the fuse.

Oh, it's the rears, you kind of confused us there. I'll just power up Sedre again...

...Passenger fuse panel, fuse 19.

Btw if you're having trouble working out the fuse panel it may actually be upside down - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21096&p=212233&hili ... wn#p212233 (also includes diagrams)

Oh yeah, Haynes, right :supafrisk:
Image

BM34 - engine fuse panel
BH28 - passenger fuse panel
0004 - dash
0002 - combination switch
2635 - r/h tail light

I was wondering why it only showed one tail light but I remembered the earlier car only uses one (unless someone's widened the hole and stuck a bulb in the other side.) Looks like the rear is the same as the front in that the indicator light is bulb-side of the fuse, so if the fuse is ok the light should come on.

Well its a 2000 hdi executive and its just driving me nuts as I hate having no rear fogs, I had a nasty accident 4 years ago in thick fog and I always have and always will have working fogs.

Well after doing alot of diggin and head scratching and everything else I finally fixed my rear fog light problems, the pink wire behind the back light in the body had been cut and the ends taped over, so joined them back up with a bit of solder and jobs a goodn' lol
