Radio Stalk not function after replace MFD

Post by bl4ckclio »

hello all

I notice my radio stalk stop function after I replace faulty MFD.
and I have thrown the faulty one :(

I think all D9 MFD are same...but they are not.

anyone know what should I do?can PP2000 restore my radio stalk function?
it's 2004 D9 full mux.

thank you.

I found when changing from a Type b (two button) screen to the type c (sat nav) screen that the stalks did not respond and the pp2000 was needed to change the settings, but i don't think if you replace a B screen with another B screen that it would cause such an issue

the problem is from type B (2004 full mux) to B (2003 semi mux)

maybe this link similiar with my problem:

so PP2000 can do for new fitted MFD, right?

They are fully multiplexed after 2002 i believe, I've had screens in between pre multiplexed and multiplexed cars without any issues but perhaps pp2000 may just configure the settings correctly.

very simple - go into replacement parts and configre it from there
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

I have tried configure it.
when I go to MFD menu -> next -> it list MFD part numbers and asked am I on that list -> ok -> no cummunication ?

go to control under steering wheel I see that "Radio Stalk*" there is " * "
but when I press volume +, it state active, release then deactive....so that with others

on global test, I have message MFD -> no +ve permanent live on display.

is it dodgy connector on BSI?
what kind of connector is 16NR base on haynes?

Make sure you are in the replacement parts section.

Look for an option for radio controls by wire or by van bus - select wire for the thin stalk an van forthe thick stalk

yes, I have choosen the van bus

next,
I go to test by ECU -> Radio -> fault reading -> "Remote intermittent fault. No Communication with multifunction screen"

because my car is full mux, hard to trace where is the problem.
I see on VAN bus diagram, several wire go-leave to interconnection.

Clear all faults and see if they remain.

If they do take the screen out again and make sure all cables are tight.

16NR just means it's a 16 way connector and it's black (French...Noir)
