Help with C4

No, not the bomb. The Citroen! My mum's C4 1.6HD VTR+ has had its "engine pollution" message on for as long as I can remember. About a year ago, the turbo and all the piping have been replaced at great cost, as it was all blocked to infinity as my mum does a lot of town driving.

Scanned it with Lexia and it came up with pressure differential faults, which I cleared and they didn't come back. I am guessing the garage never bothered erasing them after doing the work. The light and the message are now gone but these are still coming up:



Er... I have no idea what this means, where I can look for this electrovalve and what to do about it. Is this something to do with an engine cooling fan or...?

The other issue is the parking aid, which wasn't working at all. Lexia reckons one of the front sensors is faulty so I told the car that it didn't have front sensors and it started working. The message is:



I am taking this at face value in that it's the first sensor on the front bumper on the driver's side. Does anyone know what type I should replace it with? There are a few on Bay of e with varying prices... is there a difference?

No idea on the parking sensor(s).
The 'cooling circuit by-pass electrovalve' should be identifiable form the Citroen equivalent of Service Box.
Maybe worth checking all the fuses in the engine fusebox?

Will take a look at their SB - didn't know they had one!

Been Googling around and it seems like it might be related to the EGR control but then... where does the fan come in here?

I think the "cooling circuit" thing means the intercooler bypass which I think is controlled by an air doser that has two flaps -- like the 2.2 in the 406.

My guess on the other is that it's requested the cooling fan to run (for example to do an assisted regen) but has measured that not enough current is being drawn -- an inconsistency.

If the MIL is out I'd be tempted to ignore it until it manifests itself in a more apparent manner...

With the parking sensor I think I'd be tempted to unplug the other side and check Lexia shows a fault both sides...

Btw I have Sedra for Citroen too, if it helps

Mmmm, OK. I do have SEDRE installed but only for Peugeot - considering I don't even have a Cit. SEDRE is one confusing application... still haven't worked out how to use it properly.

Will have a gander at ServiceBox for the parking sensor and see what it says.

Meh, my dad's had 3 C5s, mate here has a Pickarsehole

It's not that confusing, annoying yes, but there's not that much to get confused about. Worst things are guessing RPOs and equipment levels, plus there's a plethora of engines to choose between on later cars.
