just been looking at ebay and some really cheap ones but i'l go for a decent make with warranty. i cant stand cheap tools as just a complete waste of money as they just round off or wear out very quickly

i have a few halfords pro tools and i agree they are well made and a reasonable price. their budget stuff is pretty awful though.

Halfords Pro are very good, but if you want a strong torx bit buy an "impact" quality...that's the quality used with an impact driver.

Hi, I bought a Seally set from Amazon - it has a range of long and short torx and hex head tools.
I have given it some proper welly undoing starters and calipers, back plates and interior bits.

It was £15 so money well spent.

10 or 11mm spanner for the fronts and a 7 or 8mm spanner for the rears....IIRC.

Yes, Sealey tools are very good also.

just bought a 3 tonne sealey jack. long chassis high lift excellent value.
have used sealey stuff before and most seems ok.
are the nipples just standard open spanners or special brake spanners please.
do you think a litre of fluid will change all the brake fluid or do i need more.

Standard ring spanners should be fine....I have deep hexagon 3/8 drive sockets for the tight/rounded head ones.

A litre is plenty....best to bleed half the tank out then fill it with clean fluid, bleed half the tank out again and repeat until all 4 nipples are bled....use a tube on the nipple and have the engine running. Pump the brake pedal with the engine off until the pedal feels solid.
Easiest to change your discs and pads, pump the brakes then bleed the fronts....do the rears afterwards.

thanks for advice.
will have a properly working car soon with no issues. i really cant stand driving around in a noisy, worn out old car, there is no need for it really as parts are so cheap. i know it takes time but even a few hours each weekend will get most problems sorted quickly.
it has a nice cream cloth interior which was really filthy covered in mould and dog hair. i stripped out every thing inc door cards and carpets and shampooed every bit of cloth and now its like new and smells like new aswell.
