Plip,anyone ?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

this will only work if you have a plip that is matched to your car, i.e. if the batteries have been changed, this wont work if you buy a plip from another car, the plips come programmed from the factory

Odd. I've had the ECU unplugged before and changed the batteries a couple of times without needing to do that.

you rarely have to do it, it only applys if the batteries go completley flat for ages

I dont have a plip key for my D9 and the door locks are playing up (whole barrel spinning with key  ), phoned the stealer for quote for new barrel and that was in the region of £250 but after reading more it sounds like a common problem so there's no guarantee that the new barrel would fix it!

Anyway, is there a way to re-program an old plip key from another car onto mine? (from what I can see I've got the IR type not the RF!)

Quote from the stealers for a new key was £250 - coincidence? :x
