New to 406's but not to Peugeot
Hi All,
Just bought myself a 2002 406 Estate Hdi 110......
I wondered why there was a piece of foam under the indicator switch ~ so after trawling this fantastic forum I am preparing myself for a new COM2000
Lol
It will have to wait though as first it needs a new blipper key
Oh and the horn is intermittent so perhaps I will deal with that when I doo the COM2000.
No such problems on my other Peugeot ~ 1961 D4B van LHD..... Pics will follow when I have enough posts no doubt.
Cheers Steve

Welcome on in Steve Resistance is futile
Oh & the horn problem is probably tarnishing on the contacts, easy fix with some autosol & some dialectric grease / petrolium jelly to stop it happening again

Re: New to 406's but not to Peugeot
Hi Steve & welcome aboard.
You can get the COM2000 fixed pretty cheaply.
Both of my 406's have needed a fairly firm press to activate the horn, DDD is no doubt right that you can improve it, (I'll try it myself if I ever have the airbag out again).
For now, you'll probably find a good shove on the airbag, above any of the 4 spokes will do the trick.

Re: New to 406's but not to Peugeot
Thanks for the welcome, I hope to investigate this horn problem myself following advice from here, but first can someone kindly give me a
link to the most relevant links to safely remove the airbag and also how to first disconnect the battery without messing up any electronics / codes etc?
Advice is very much appreciated.
Thanks again
Steve

Which links through to your photobucket album with lots and lots of interesting pics of your bus I've just looked through the whole lot - that was amazing! It rather looks like it's taken over your life. Are there any words to go with the pictures? That is, did you tell the story on a forum somewhere?D4B wrote:a pic

Hi Steve,
Yes of course there is a very long story with it.... all because I won an ebay auction which I probably shouldn't have been bidding in.
You are very welcome to read it all here:

or the French version of events:

Oh wow, I've just looked at your Van thread above, that thing is beautiful I love it's honesty and charm.
Looks like you had a good bit of luck sourcing some of the bits and the quality of those repair panels is spot-on well done!
Thanks for sharing that, it has made my day already

Hi Welly,
Glad you enjoyed it, sadly I had to sell the D4B last July, gone but certainly not forgotten.
Cheers Steve
