What a disappointment the new series has been for me.

With the first 4 shows being a bit mediocre I was looking forward to the Burma special two-parter......again disappointed it felt like the presenters had lost Direction, lots of details missing and building that bridge what an utter waste of viewing time virtually the whole programme dedicated to the bridge; then they drove over it and said goodbye

Agree. It's really not as funny as it used to be, and I think a lot of it is down to the jokes being dumbed down to appeal to those people who couldn't even read and comprehend The Sun. The humour's not just foretold, it's completely spoiled in advance - they may as well freeze frame after someone says "but that won't be a problem" and have a narrator explain that it might be a problem later

The two-parter really could have fit in one episode. We watched both back-to-back last night, and it got tedious towards the end

Yeah I noticed that too, an almost childish script, kinda like......"oooh we'd better not park right next to this cliff"

There was a few episodes this year that I thought were superb. But the whole series was spoiled by that utter fire Burma special!

It's certainly gone a bit over the top with all the sillyness but I still enjoy it. It's partly do do with the development of the "characters" of the guys, we now know exactly what to expect from each of them so all they can do is exaggerate those characteristics to the extreme. It must also be difficult to keep coming up with original stuff, hence why we can now see exactly what's coming before it happens 'cos whatever they're doing it's all variations on a theme. But even though it's predictable it still makes me chuckle.

It's completely undemanding TV. The easy option.

It's like having the local pizza joint on 'Quikdial' on the smartphone,
paying the £20 to have them deliver, throwing the dummy out of the pram
because they forgot one of the toppings. When you can buy some
liver for almost pennies, same for onions, broccoli, mushrooms, jacket potato,
10 minutes to cook healthy food, and the pleasure of having created something.

Top Gear is junk food.

Yeah, I still watch it. A few easy laughs.
There has to be something better than this.

The first episode of the series with the 3 hot hatches was one of the worst episodes of top gear I've watched, it was far too scripted. it wasn't as bad as the india special but not far off it. The burma special was ok but compared to the great road trips like botswana and vietnam it wasn't as enjoyable to watch.

There were a few good episodes in the series, i prefer the semi sensible reviews the funniest part was jeremy cutting the dummys legs to get it to fit in the back of the 1 series saying that its a bit messy and currently illegal
The cycling adverts i thought were quite funny.

Its not as good as it used to be but id still watch top gear over them crappy talent shows.

Yeah I have to agree with all the above, each year I tell the wife I'm not going to watch the new series as it keeps getting sillyer & sillyer .
But this series has raised the bar for crapness , I won't be bothering again I've got better things to do with a spare hour.
