3L V6 Engine Stabiliser Bush

Post by kiwi406v6 »

Hi all. Can anyone tell me how to remove the top engine stabiliser bush and fit the new one? Thank you

I should've said my engine stabiliser query is for a 99 3L V6 sedan

Hi and welcome aboard. 8)

Maybe this will help you identify the part(s) required?

Trouble is a 99 V6 can be;
phase1/D8/slatted grille or phase2/D9/honeycomb grille?
V6 194 or 210 bhp?
manual or auto?

Not sure if the engine mounts are all the same, but it may help to know.

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)

2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Probably means the top mount - 14 on the diagram. Piece of cake to change.

Stick a jack under the sump, lift it just enough to take the pressure. Remove the bracket - 10 on the diagram. Unscrew the top mount - will need a hammer and screwdriver to get it started, then screw the new mount in, put the bracket back (will need to man-handle the engine to get it aligned right), and you're done.

Might need to take the plastic engine cover off first... can't remember
