Front fog lights

Hello,

OK I have fitted the front fog lights and also the stalk. Unfortunately, they don't light up

Everything else works with the new stalk including the rear fog light. I have checked the fuses and they are OK... Anything else I can check?

in the fuse box in the drivers footwell, im not sure which one it is, have a look in your haynes manual/owners handbook, you will only need a 25 amp 4 pin switching relay, about £5 from halfrauds

I know until Captain Jack actually gets these to work he cant answer, but is fitting front fogs an easy job to do?

I'm assuming the wiring is all there?

The wiring is all there, but it's a bit of a pain in the arse job. I fitted the fog lamps simply because I had to replace the bumper, so I thought I'd do these as well. To remove the bumper though, you need to remove the front headlights, which are killers as it has screws that are only really accessible with the engine out! But I am sure it'll be worth it. Just gotta find where the relay actually goes!

Ratchet/electric screwdriver bits in a 1/4in (ii think) socket

Is it a particular type of relay that I need, James? I bought a 40 Amp 12v "Automotive" one from Maplins, cos local Halfs didn't have any. And the lights still don't work. There's only one place I could find to fit the relay under the steering wheel and that's the one in the middle, which was empty. There is also an empty socket in the engine bay's fuse box... what's that one for?

Didn't have a problem getting my front bumper of without removing the head lights just removed the grill and undun the 2 bolts there removed a few bolts on the wheel arch liner and remove the bolts fron inside the wing.

then it was just a case of getting a long screwdriver to stick in the wee twisty things behind the lights

it was a doddle

the D9 bumper is a million times easier to get off than the D8 one, did you look in the haynes manual to see which relay was for the front fog?

The haynes doesnt seem to mention which relay is used for front fogs.. I'll check the wiring diagrams...

i could have sworn theres a relay for the fog lights, have you checked the bulbs?

The lighting stalk doesn't melt when they're on, so I'd say there's definitely a relay
