So what do you guys think of my side exit exhaust. It's not quite finished yet but it's getting there.
It's 3" straight through with two of these cats
And a 4x14" silencer
, Joeboy words fail me, I think you might be on the wrong web site for stuff like that.
It's not my cup of Jack anyways , but that's just my personal opinion

I like the fact you are doing this sort of thing - have you researched the legal side of this exhaust exit point?

I've done as much research as I could fine on the net and I spoke to my mot man and he said its fine. It's no different to what land rover drivers do for ground clearance so I think it should be ok. The only thing that I might have trouble with is the noise factor.
And maybe from you passengers choking on the fumes when their window is down....
Your engine bay looks empty compared to standard, have you got a nice bay picture I could look at?

If it's good enough for the merc slr it's good enough for me lol. I've removed loads of stuff to make way for the exhaust. Air con is all gone, fuse box and all wires moved to the space between the arch liner and front of the bumper and the battery is now in the boot. I'll take a pic tomorrow.
Joeboy I think you'll find that the Merc SLR has side pipes that exit in the sill, a much more approprate place
I had a 2.8i capri with side exit pipes on each side years ago I for what it's worth I loved it & they sounded mega .
I just don't get this pipe out the front wing/valance thing, but then maybe that's just my age

I thought and exhaust outlet had to be behind the rearmost opening window? unless that has changed? maybe as long as there's CAT's? I know I've seen modded Evo's with front exhaust like this.
I must say there's not many on here into modding their 406's but 10/10 for effort so far!

As others have said not my thang but you appear to have done a good job.
I am curious to know if it effects engine temps with a hot pipe running back through the engine bay?
Looking at the SLR pipes they exit below the curve of the sill which my rudimentary knowledge of aerodynamics suggests at speed fumes would hug the under-side of the sill or go under the car, positioned on top of the wing I imagine it would run upwards along the curve directing it straight to the passenger window or into the wheel arch which potentially could sneak through the cabin filter/bulkhead.
No idea on the legality of it all but just be very, very careful!

I would think that blasting passed pedestrians with hot exhaust gases and fumes should make you quite popular. Just remember that passing an MOT does not make a car legal, and I am reasonably sure there is legislation about heights of side exiting exhausts for the protection of pedestrians against such things.
