Turbo Wastegate Solenoid A on a 2.0HDI YR2000

HI there I was wondering if anyone can help please, I have a 406 2.0HDI on a 'W' plate (2000). It seems to have developed a fault in that the Engine Management light came on so I read the code....It said 'Turbo / Supercharger Wastegate Solenoid A'
Does anyone know anything about these things because I dont.....all i know is that the car feels quite sluggish most of the time although it gets upto speed, it never gives you that boot up the backside when i give it a bit of throttle, in fact feels more van like than i believe it should be.
I've changed a few things previously like mass airflow meter and the little valve just close the the bonnet slam panel but now this one baffles me...does anyone know if this could be my problem...and where is it located.....is it an easy fix?

Sounds Like you electro valve / vaccum unit, you'll find two or three of them in a line mounted on the bulkhead on the drivers side.
It's not the blue one that's the EGR one, you need to follow the vaccum line from the wastegate on the turbo up to the electrovalve .
I belleive you can swap these round to see if it fix's your prob, but your'll need to clear your fault codes & for that you need pp2000

Thanks for the help...yes I know the items you mention...drivers side just below the windscreen on the bulkhead under the bonnet. I will try the method you suggest

I thought there were either one (EGR) or two (EGR and air doser) on a 90. (The extra one on the 110 is the wastegate.) I guess we'll find out...

Wastegate is closed by vacuum, EGR is opened by vacuum, don't know which way round the air doser is.

the turbo and air doser valves are interchangeable but the egr is not
