Does the earlier airbag fit properly? It looks different to the one on the leather wheel?
I don't see why you can't use the new air bag, but you might need to use pp2000 to 'allow' it in your car

A friend of mine recently did a 'straightening' job on a C4 and replaced the deployed side air bags with ones from a breaker and it didn't throw up any errors.
He had the battery off for a good couple of days during the strip down and refit so the car probably forgot then relearned everything afterwards avoiding the need for any reprogramming.
In a nutshell I think if you replace like for like there shouldn't be a problem and make sure you leave the battery off for a good hour before unplugging anything, just don't sit in the drivers seat when you start the engine for the first time

Back again! Recieved the wheel today, and there are some differences between the two. The new leather wheel has a central hole at the bottom of the wheel, whereas my current wheel has two holes at "ten to two". Will it still fit ok? I only have my standard airbag, not the new one.
