Issue with post/pre heating relay circuit on PP2000

Post by fattail95 »

Hi guys!

Got my PP2000 the other day, and noticed a permenant fault with the post/pre heating relay circuit, as below:

Is the issue with the small box next to the ECU?

Many thanks :)

They all do that sir, I think every single HDi that's been up on test reports the same issue. Clear it & ignore it.

Does this mean that the glow plugs dont function at all then? Or just at reduced efficiency?

Many thanks :)

Do you actually have a problem or is this something you've come across while you've been exploring?

Glow plugs are not needed in an Hdi unless you live somewhere at -15'c..... :(

I believe the later Hdis use the glowplugs to aid the regen if you have a DPF/FAP, but not really needed on an old 406....

I've not used glowplugs for 4 years.

As above: clear it and see if it comes back.
If it does come back then it'll be either a relay or more likely the glow plugs.
And if it's working then you may choose not to fix it

If you had a 2.2 HDi with a functioning (haha) dpf then this can develop into regen failures.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I can confirm that the later hdis use them for regeneration and dead plugs equal an antipollution fault [emoji20]
