LIMITATIONS OF THE YATOUR
Well, I guess it was never going to be that easy  Despite the claims in the blurb, it only sees the first 15 "disks" and of them only the first 52-54 tracks - it seems to vary so it's probably something to do with the size of the tracks, so I'll limit myself to 50. Thus ends my idea of dumping an infinite number of mp3s in 99 folders :(

I should point out that I've no idea if this is due to the limitations of the Yatour or the yoyo's Massiveshitter HU :frown:

I've just rationalised the memory stick, I had 30 folders in there with a couple of thousand mp3s and it took the HU about 30+ seconds to "load" them after a switch on, then it would carry on from where it was. This basically meant I'd be reversing it out into the road watching for idiots on the wrong side of the road as I passed the fire house here and suddenly there'd be a loud noise... I just tried it with only 5 "disks" in it and it's almost instantaneous.

Oh dear, how will I cope with only 750 mp3s? :supafrisk:

Btw yes, I've ordered one for the D9

Top man!

We await the results with rather more interest than the EU election results

Meanwhile, I'll work on my top 750 MP3 list

I was quite interested in the yurupeen erections, at the very least it was the closest to watching Cleg and Camoron slowly disembowelled on live tv we're gonna get.

I think the PSA version only does 6 "disks" but I'll (hopefully) let you know when it finally slithers through the snail mail.

I have a Connects2 thingy whatsit, paid the extra as i wanted to hook it to my iPhone rather than having to update 2 sets of files. Works very nicely, especially the steering wheel controls for track changing etc. As the CD changer only 'has' 6 slots it plays all 9000 files on 'cd1' (the device presents a cd with one track and manages the skip itself) then the next 5 are the first 5 playlists on the device.

Plus it charges the phone and you get a nice big display to see what is playing.

I was hoping that would become clearer with time  So it only shows track 01 while it's playing all 9000 mp3s on the CD? :? Playlists? It plays playlists??

Swift update on the Yatour - now I have the recommended 8GB memory stick the one in the yoyo seems to be behaving itself. Looks like I have 15 disks with up to 99 tracks each (there's only 2 character spaces in the display).

I've also received one for the D9, however I've not had much time to play with it yet as the D9's been to the spray shop to sort out some of the rougher bits of bodywork and now it's giving me aunty pollution faults left, right and centre (pay back for leaving it parked in the garage for months I guess  ) Anyway, yes it works, 6 disks of 99 tracks a piece (2 character spaces etc.) however I don't think the HU is enjoying the experience as it keeps telling me there's no disks until I change it to the radio and back, at which point they all appear as if by magic. I'll update when I have a better idea what the deal is.

But hold off until I get to grips with it and can report back. I'm noticing the one in the yoyo still has a few issues but as I said above I'm really not sure if that's the emulator or the HU e.g. with the recommended 8GB memory stick it's taking 13 seconds to start playing again after a switch off and it's still leaving gaps between tracks on a mix cd.

I'm still thinking I should have sprung for a Connects2 but I really couldn't justify one for both cars.

Ive also got one of them connects2 yokes for the 406, really good job, especially with the iPhone holder i got 3D printed which makes it handy to plug the phone into the car one handed, this is the setup (there is no wire dangling from the holder anymore it goes through the air vent to the back of the radio).

It was pricey at £50, then the phone holder wasnt cheap either (and it will only work for a 4s with the specific type of cover i use) but it works very well with good quality sound, and with 32Gb in the iPhone there is no shortage of tunes, the only disappointment is that it doesn't show what song the phone is playing on the radio, although the phone itself will display what the song is, there is something funny about changing between the 6 CD's and playlists, but i normally just set it to shuffle and let it play, the next or previous track buttons work ok.

 I'd have got one of them if I could get one for 50 sovs, they're usually about 80.

Oh yes, the lowest on ebay is 55 quid now, stuff the Yatour if they do the business. Nobody wants to send one to Croatia though, I guess I'll have to wait until they realise Croatia joined the EU a year ago

I have my iPhone in a (generic) holder mounted to the left of the MFD screen. I removed the left bit of trim and the original mount fits between the dash and the side of the MFD housing. If i could be bothered I would cut the trim so it refitted round the holder, but you cant see much of the gap with the phone in.

I don't know how imports work with you but is it possible for someone in the UK to buy the item for you and send it over as a "gift"

Well yes, but that's even more postage to pay for. It's not that I'll get clobbered by import duties any more as there shouldn't be any from other member countries, it's just that Croatia is one of them places some sellers consider to be a black hole where things will get lost or stolen or whatever, so they just won't post here.

Btw mate where did you mount yours? I can't see it in the picture, is it tucked away because your eye phone mount is plugged into it all the time? I thought it would be easy enough to mount the Yatour under the radio but it's not flat enough :frown:

The connects 2 unit is mounted in the dash somewhere behind the climate control or that hallow part of the dash, its wrapped in an old rag and some insulating tape so it doesn't rattle inside the dash i havent it secured to anything but its fairly snug where its located. This was when i installed it a couple of years back, before i wrapped it in the rag:

The cable that came from the box went up through the air vent to the holder, i cut a small track in the air vent duct where it meets the front fascia that you see on the dash, it was just wide enough for the wire, then it was sealed back up to stop any funny whistling sounds from the dash.
