Tow bar cage nuts and wiring run?

Post by iybyisyl »

:?: Hi, Ive been given a tow bar to fit to my 406 estate, looks easy really, except for the cage nuts which fit in the rear chassis legs are missing, anyone know where I can get 4 from. Do dealers sell them?
Also in terms of the wiring, How do I get/run the wires to the tow bal? Do I drill in the floor pan, in the spare wheel recess, with a grommet and sealer? Or is there another way
Thx

Hi i got my 406 saloon towbar from here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Fit-your-own-towbars-Towequipe he "may" sell the cage nuts seperately but i am not sure theyre not too hard to fit just make surer its torqued up right. as for the wiring i have a d9 saloon 406 hdi and there is a rubber grommet in the passenger side just behind the rear wheel arch not sure about the estate but there is like a plastic storage box where you can shove junk and that is clipped over the top of it you shouldnt need to do any drilling my old man had a d8 saloon 406 1.9 td and that also had a hole in the passenger side

Hi, thx for responding Adam. Fitted the tow bar at the weekend. Easy really and a good griend who is a sparky fitted the electrical bits, no problem once wires were traced.
