It will be getting sandblasted to get rid of the rust, but its by no means beyond repair, the suspension mounts are intact, and the floors are fairly solid, it will mostly be patching up the bodywork.
The engine mount/driveshaft setup is the same on most XUD pugs and citroens as well as the Dw10, it would be interesting to see if the 407 retained the same layout, and on the topic of parts sharing i found that part for the exhaust manifold was used on the 405, 309 and 205, its called an exhaust muffler:


It costs about £18 from peugeot, euro car parts have it on sale at the moment for £25, and failing that i drew it up on solid works last night:

and could possibly get the top and bottom cut out on the plasma cutter at work, it would be just a case of finding a bit of round pipe with a 127mm diameter

I was thinking of a blanking plate but i think this part is fairly important.

While stripping the subframe down fully today i noticed that the bracket holding one of the wishbones in place has been snapped:

I don't suppose you can still get pattern panels for the Van? front valance etc. I know other manufacturers skimp on rustproofing the Vans as they don't expect them to last longer than about 8 years so this one's a fighter

Mechanical parts are not too bad, if they have stopped making them for the 305 newer PSA cars seem to use the same parts, but with the body panels sometimes new old stock items pop up on ebay, there is also ebay france and leboncoin which i think is french gumtree.

I don't remember them at school but I can well remember the dealers using them and sometimes showing us stuff on the screen "cor, how do they get so much information on something so small?!"
