Remote key fob resync

So ive done my searching.......but its turning up 10 different ways to do the same thing, and more importantly, none of them work.

My car starts and stops fine with the keys.
But it wont lock and unlock on the remote.

It locks fine with the key in the drivers door.

How do you reconnect? the key to the car.
Ive tried turning on the igniton and holding down the unlock button etc.

Its a 2 button key.

If you've tried the correct re-sync procedure for your car, you will need someone with PP2000 to get your car to 're-learn' the keys.
Before you can do this, you need the 4-character PIN code that comes with the car when new.
If you don't have it, there are people out there that can recover it from your VIN, usually for a few quid. Try Googling 'Peugeot VIN to PIN'.

Do you have the handbook?

It says in there how to re-sync the remote. Basically its ignition on, press lock button on the key immediately and hold it in for 10 seconds, turn ignition off and release the button.

That is the method I tried. Unfortunately no luck. I don't have the handbook either.

May have to invest in a pin code, then find someone with pp2000 to help me out

Looking at your other post with the pics of the butchered wires I would suspect that to be the area to investigate first.
Now, does the central locking work when you use the key in the door locks?

I think that the wiring may be a red herring in this instance. As these remote central locking issues appear so common as it is.
As i said in my OP, eveything works fine using the key itself, including the central locking. Its just the remote part of it I am lacking.

Just had to resynch mine tonight, thanks to the Heathrow T5 valet parking service.

Fortunately, it worked just by turning on the ignition and holding the close button for 10 sec. Guess it's just been pressed too many times out of range of the car.

So I have pp2000 now, which is working!!! That took a while, but I got there.

Is there more than 1 place to get vin to pin now? I can see lots of old posts about certain websites, but if I can help paying £20 for the privilege of being given my pin, it would be useful. As ive spent enough on this stupid car already for the mot.

Is there a service that anyone has used recently which they can recommend as currently reliable?

So ive got my code (courtesy of a very quick service from carkeycodes).
Have resynced the key via pp2000 successfully......but, it still doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong.
Ive also then tried to reprogramme key using ignition on, hold button on key for 10secs, let button go, switch off ignition.

Nothing......
Im at a loss now. As that was one of the main reasons I bough my pp2000 kit.

If you have reprogrammed the key with pp2000, then the only logical deduction is that there is a faulty circuit on the pcb inside it, a new key and a reprogramming session will be your answer.

Hmmm, it does seem like things are stacked up against you at the moment...

I'm sorry I can't help you, I got mine working with the 10 second button thing - silly question but is the battery okay, and not one from the pound shop...?

At least having PP2000 means you can do lots of other things as far as repairs/diagnostics etc.

P.s. I am not easy to piss off...

Hmm. Bad times.
New key it is then.
Does it have to be new transponder and a new circuit board, or will just the new cicuit board do the trick? As the transponder is working, eg, car starts with key etc.

Far as I know I would say it is a good battery. Lights up the red led etc. But I couldn't tell you if it was from a pound shop or not tbh

What do we think of this proposed service as a possible solution.

I have 2 keys, the 1 i use daily appears physically ok. The LED lights up etc, but i cannot get the remote locking to work.
The 2nd key is missing a Micro-Switch and needs repair to try functioning.

Both start the car.
I thought it may well be worth trying this service on each key, 1 by 1. Starting with the key missing the microswitch.
If this repair is successful, then it should in theory work fine with the car. If it still doesn't work, then maybe there is an issue on the car side of the receiver end and I will give up all hope.....
