Are there any good C5 forums out there? I'm after a small glove box that sits just under the steering wheel ad am wondering if I can find someone breaking one... Also wouldn't mind a set of roof bars but I don't even know what they look like.
Quite happy with it so far I have no idea until i top up tomorrow at the mpg because I've only brimmed it once and I done about 80 miles towing this weekend so won't get good figures.....It tows lovely though and dare I say it Better than the 406
Sod's Law dictates that the rails themselves will be almost completely identical, except the front and fixing holes will be 3mm further apart on the C5 than on the 407.
(I have no idea if they'll fit or not)

I see, it's a single CD unit - it's for my bro's, ideally he wants a cassette unit to work with his CD changer, but I'll let him know it's a possibility.
Thanks, Scotty.

Try the French car forum, they are pretty good but there are usually a number being broken on ebay, or just type in the part you want.
PeterN wrote:Well ... it should be the same as the 406 and they generally are but mine says its averaging about 53mpg but when I brim the tank I find its actually doing less for reasons I can't explain. The car is about the same weight so all things being equal expect the same consumption. The 406 is capable of 60mpg + driven gently, the C5 is showing the same but not doing it. I'm sure mine is a one off though.

Hmmm, I got 2 figures so far 39mph for 150 miles (75 towing) the rest around the valleys and.
42mpg for 190 miles (90 mile trip) the rest valleys driving.... Me not liking that last figure.

For scrap info my breaker got weighed in yesterday, current scrap value is £100 a ton.
My race spec stripped out car fetched the princely sum of £114, no idea how much weight It lost prior to the weigh in but my shed is pretty full of spares!
TBH after my mate towing me to the scrap yard I was more bothered about getting there in one piece than the value

I'm surprised you didn't get a tug from the rozzers towing a scrapper on the roads, were you on a solid bar or a tow rope? I suppose it would be viewed as a 'dangerous' vehicle maybe?
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
Solid bar and we only travelled 3/4 of a mile, kept the speed down to 20 - 25 but you're probably right about being considered a dangerous vehicle.
I did check my mirrors tho and they were safe and sound with all the other spares in the shed!
