Come to think of it, I nicked the handbook out of a Dodge Stratus I hired in Yankland once  That was the car where the a/c stank like something had died in it, when I took it back and told them the guy said "it wouldn't be the first time"

This also reminds me that I didn't realise my D9 had foldy mirrors for about a year. Well, the handbook is in Italian...

When I worked for the AA, I used to get called out for various idiot lights on the dashboard. Most of them you get to recognize, but there are the odd ones you don't. First question would be with reference to location of Handbook. Again, Handbook locations on different cars was something you picked up on, so I would open relevant flap and retrieve it. Check the light and either fix or explain why I couldn't. Yet these same people would happily agree that they will spend hours reading the Handbook for their dvd player or washing machine which cost less than 10% of the car.

Women I find mostly do not show any interest in the various buttons/fittings (unless I've been dealing with the wrong type of woman?) my Wife does-not-like an array of buttons and sh*t, if she gets cold she turns the dial up to the 'red bit' and that kinda thing. Too much stuff is a bad thing.

The other day she drove my volvo and caught the 'windscreen demist' button when shifting gear (I've done it myself) but all panic ensued and she had to pull up and ring me :? apparently she was being 'blasted' with hot air

There are lots of drivers that have no idea what some of the buttons do and seemingly no interest either.

For sake of balance I do not read manuals for appliances :cheesy:
