RARE 406 v6 saloon on ebay

Can't remember which ones I used. I bought them from Hannah Autosound in Glasgow; they had 'em in stock. Don't really want to go take my interior to bits to check, as it's quite tightly packed in there and it was a bugger to put back together.

This takes speaker level audio in on the ISO connectors, and outputs to the RCA (phono) jacks.

I'd use two of them (one for Front Left and Rear Left, one for Front Right and Rear Right), plus some RCA (phono) to ISO converters to let you connect the output back to the ISO bus.

Maybe something like those Yatour devices that you plug into your cd changer. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261211111423?nav=SEARCH. Sorry it is german but it says it plugs into the cd changer plug in the back of the standard head unit. Not a bad price for the standard look. You can also add a bluetooth device on it. I have got one in my V6 saloon. Its pretty good. I have also switched out the standard harman speakers and replaced them with jbl ones and a amplifier that I got off ebay for £65. Sounds really good through the jbl.

That looks a good idea as I'd like to keep the sat nav etcs.

Hoping the osf window not working will be a quick wiring repair or the contacts in the switch that just need a clean up.
Is it a common issue?

Ordered 4 vredstein quatracs in 205/60 15 and new front and rear discs, pads, shoes, a new air and fuel filter, and a leather dye kit to get the seat back to its best tonight.

Looking forward to picking it up now

It's 3 times the cost to insure than my Cooper S and twice as much to tax which I knew but I'm still not ecstatic about!

Well its home and its a lovely car to drive, as tight as you'd expect a 66k mile car to be.

Should get the tyres fit tommorow as half throttle in 1st and second results in no motion and the traction control light flashing madly.

Every thing seems to work bar the osf window as the switch is broken, the osf handle surround inside is missing auto wipers so i'm going to take the sensor out and clean the silicon up as it looks a bit murky and get some new wipers on it when i service it tommorow.

Then it just needs a big clean inside and out, the towbar fitting on sunday and some new mats then i can get the 2 big dents fixed, a new bonnet on it and it will look like a brand new car.

I've had one or other of my window switches refuse to play occasionally, but they have responded to a bit of vigourous wiggling and stayed working afterwards, so try that first.

Took the window switch out and resoldered the connections on the pcb and all is well again
Smells lovely now it's been gliptone cleaned as well.

Towbar ordered and should be here Tuesday, all service bits picked up and in the boot so will do it all at once next Saturday and fit my headunit at the same time.

Steering wheel not straight so will get it straight then take it for the tracking doing next week before I pick the caravan up.

Euro car parts offer a set of updated lowering springs which I'm considering as the higher spring rate and lower c of g should help when towing.

Just waiting for my headrest and I need a osf door handle surround which is missing then it will be 100% inside and that's all I'm bothered about.

Not fussed for the couple of dents outside as long as all is good inside for now. Will get them sorted eventually though.

Don't forget to re-calibrate the steering wheel sensor after the tracking has been done......

Towbar fit, serviced, tracking done, oil leak fixed (sump needed resealing) and it runs like a dream
Averaging 28.9 MPG currently, picked the caravan up Sunday and it didn't even notice it on the back.

Just awaiting my connects aux in to come and some tyres and it will be 100% perfect for me then.

It's so tight and drives absolutely spot on, my friend in his Focus ST was a bit surprised he couldn't pull away from me until I told him I hadn't bought an HDi

Got my connects Aux fitted tonight, best 25 quid I've spent!
Plugs straight into where the CD changer plugged into, decent sound quality too.

Had our first holiday in the caravan last weekend, car performed faultlessly, has such a reserve of power, doesn't notice the 1050kg on the back hardly.
The brakes don't seem that great though, I suppose it is a big heavy car and I'm used to a small, light car with 4 pot calipers up front.

I got the Aux one as I only use Spotify for all my music and it doesn't output over sub on iPhone 6

Job well done on the car! Very hard to find a V6 saloon, I had to take a trip to France to find mine. Hopefully you will have many trouble free miles of driving[emoji2]

Still going strong

Done over 1000 miles in the car now.
Average 26.4 when towing and 24.5 when not

Makes a big difference being sat on the motorway at 60 rather than shorter journeys, it doesn't get used much round town though, it does the shopping though so the Mini doesn't get any car park dings as its immaculate.

Doesn't really notice the van on the back, quicker 20-60 off of roundabouts than most cars are solo!

Matched tyres has made a big difference in grip up front, the DSC is far too intrusive though and is the first thing I turn off when in the car and not towing, allows no slip at all and the 406 is a decent handling car for a big bus.
