Vauxhall corsa question

Post by FarmerPug »

A question about the brakes on a 2006 Corsa, my cousin changed a calliper on one today as the car was pulling to the drivers side when braking, the passenger side calliper was seized, the passenger side calliper was replaced but there is no fluid going to it when pumping the brake pedal, there is fluid going to the ABS unit, and when disconnecting the pipe for each other wheel at the abs unit fluid comes out, but on the port for the passenger side wheel no fluid comes out. Does these abs units give much trouble?

The Astra ABS units give loads of trouble, not sure if they are the same as the Corsa.
Look up http://www.bba-reman.com

What I would try first is to attach a pump to the bleed screw and pump the fluid through, eg, an old manual petrol pump or something similar....make sure the fluid level is topped up.

Better still try an auto bleed kit if you can get hold of one.

He got it going today, excuse the technical terms here but apparently he got a used one and split the electrical and hydraulic parts, took the replacement hydraulic part which wasnt exactly the same as the original and put it onto the car, after refilling the system with new brake fluid the brakes seem to be working ok now with the ABS pulsating as it should and no odd lights
