Axle stands - there's more than one? The stand itself doesn't look like it could take much lateral force, not like a traditional stand which is a stable tripod I suspect that one would bend on the attachment to the bottom plate and fold up. I notice it doesn't have any wheels on the front, you know when you lift the side of a car up and the jack rolls towards the car? Well, that one won't, and it'll leave the monopod with a lateral force on it. Hmm, dicey

the little ratchet on the side holding it up place, and the ease it is let down when re jacked also don't build confidence. smart idea though

We were issued trolley jacks with built-in locking bars during my time with the AA. They are much sturdier than that advertized one, and I have seen the odd one at car boots. I used to regularly lift heavier things than the average car with mine. I think the heaviest was a horsebox with two shire horses. Total weight about 11 tons, but I was only lifting one side to do a wheel change.

Looks novel. I bought a Bradbury trolley jack back in the '60s, cost well over a weeks wages, £27.50 I think, but I still have it, don't use it a lot as its a bit unwieldy to move but it is certainly stable compared with these small modern ones which will tip over at the drop of a hat, but at least I can lift them on to my death defying ramp.

I bought my trolley jack about 2 years ago i think it was branded as a Manx it was a shade under £100. Its strong enough but too heavy to lift, every time ive lifted it into a car ive had a fecked back for a few days after it. It also doesnt seem to hold its position, it doesnt drop suddenly but it gradually drops, i remember doing the timing belt on the clio i had the engine supported by the jack with an axle stand a few few inches lower incase the jack failed, the next morning the engine was resting on the axle stand
