Has anyone fitted a type 096 battery? Its arounf 276mm long, nearl as long as the battery tray. The plastic tabs in the bottom of the tray would have to be removed(the ones that stop the battery sliding). My battery needs replacing, its the original Varta battery,11 years old,but its 640 cca.Trying to find a type 075 640 cca is hard. Most are upto 620 cca.But the bigger 096 batterys are just as cheap, and 670 cca.By my messurements, the big batter will will just fit the box,but wanted to know if anyone else has fitted a big battery.

I have a Lucas 100 650CCA 70Ahr in mine. it is a bit of a fiddle getting it in and out because of the clips which Peugeot, in their wisdom, mounted on the 'unused' part of the battery box.

Re: Bigger battery?
I've got an 096 670 CCA / 72 Ah on mine.
It fits OK, but the battery cover won't fully clip into place, sits up a fraction at one side.

Re: Bigger battery?
ditto. It doesn't matter as there's more clearance that side anyway.

Re: Bigger battery?
Great thank guys.I will get a 096 battery then, the bigger cca the better.E bay defo cheaper, and most come with a 3,4 or 5 year warranty.I think the Varta battery has done well for 11 years/206k miles
If you remember,i had the alternator reconned in 2010,and when its really cold on the mornings, its a bit flat, and the moment you crank it over, all the ignition lights go out etc.Once its started,if you re start it,the ignition lights stay on during cranking,so the battery is on its way out.
Will let you know what i get.

Re: Bigger battery?
Well,i ordered this yesterday morning http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251633949235? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Its just arrived.Very very cold here and hard frost.Started mine, very lazy and warning lights going out on dash.Fitted new battery, bang, started straight away, all warning lights stayed on on dash, excellent. It fits the battery box perfect, although as said, the lid does not sit perfect, but its no problem.

Re: Bigger battery?
Random, when I had my yoyo surf buying 2 batteries for it from the yoyo stealer was only marginally more expensive than the battery website I usually use (less than £10)steve_earwig wrote:Shirley, off is preferablehammerman wrote:all warning lights stayed on on dash![]()
Mine was pretty pricey tooNot much choice here as per. Mind you the yoyo's was hideously expensive as it's a weird size and had to be ordered special
