They've got one almost as bad in Hemel Hempstead where my younger daughter used to live. I hated it and was dreading trying to get round/through/over it with the removal truck, but oddly enough lots of suddenly courteous motorists just got out of the way.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

There is one in High Wickham too, near the bottom of Marlow hill - I've never had any problems with it.

Car drivers are a strange lot though, some keep well clear of me in the 26 tonne, 32 feet long Hiab lorry - others simply DO NOT want to be behind a lorry and will get past you in some of the most dangerous places ( roundabouts, double white lines, blind corners, etc )

Apparently, if there is a double white give way line going onto the roundabout then you have to give way - if there is a single white give way line then you have priority over the double whites, even if they are on the roundabout first.

This is untested though

I've had some fun on that, even more enjoyable when you have no f@#*en idea which exit you want and the sat nav is saying one thing and the missus another.
I don't miss the suicide lanes they have in the states

I used to regularly drive down a road with one of those in North London, I think it was part of the A406 NCR but... that's more than 20 years ago and I absolutely cannot remember. London Colney? There's a left hand bend with a set of lights, after that the road's 3 lanes wide, 1 going one way, 1 going the other and the middle lane was for whoever was brave enough.

These were typically found on motorway exits where you joined a normal 2 lane road. You had to cross oncoming traffic to get to your lane. No lights just a give way and as the car coming off the motorway you had the right of way
