Citroen Dispatch Windows

Post by FarmerPug »

I was working on my uncles van today, a 2009 Citroen Dispatch, with 49,000 miles

The drivers side electric window has a problem, it makes noise but it doesnt move, the door card and sheet behind it came off reasonably easily, but the actual window mechanism is an ackward bastard. Citroen have riveted it in place, and the centres of the rivets still have the mandrels making driling them out ackward. But with some drilling and a lot of hammer and chisel work the rivets were off and the mechanism came out, holding electrical components in place with rivets in a french vehicle isnt exaclty the best idea.

The mechanim looked good when it was removed, the motor still made noise but i could see no movement, opening the mechanism up revealed that the drive between the motor and the cable for the windows had sheared off:

Citroen is good at using rivets. (saves them money on bolts a s'pose.)

worst thing ive seen riveted on..is the door handles. (outside ones)
took me two hours to get one off on my old Xsara,

Theyre good for sharp edge's too,

that's a bugger :frown: I can't see anyone on ebay selling a repair part for them either (unless I'm looking for the wrong thing)
