Yes, sounds like he's omitted to have the Cambelt changed, has been doing a lot of miles, didn't want to broach the subject of a £300.00 cambelt change with SWMBO so has been living on borrowed time
That scenario of "I just moved the car and something went" is classic almost all cambelt failures happen just after start up.

Umm, I thought the thing with lpg is it's cheaper, it has less calorific value than petrol or diesel so the car should actually burn more of it. Or am I talking out of my bottom?
My dads old nissan primera on petrol averaged about 35-40mpg most of the time, gas was about half the cost of petrol when he was getting it, but the car used more gas litres to go a set distance than it would have used petrol, the car was still cheaper to run but it wasnt double the fuel economy, it was just a tad better than the 406 but it was a completley lifeless thing to drive.

I always thought the point of lpg was cost. No comparison to mpg, just £per mile. I have known a few lpg cars over the years since the 70s, and all owners/drivers have complained about poor performance. Still, can't have everything.

Ha ha, a bit tedious at the beginning but I did chuckle at the 'endorsements'.....
