The Hains book says that the instrument panel uses LEDs instead of bulbs, is this so? I have a several failed ones. If they are LEDs can they be obtained and replaced or do I have to fit a new panel?

I suspect for a 2001 it could be either, I know they went led eventually but I think semi-muxes were bulbs and there was a change over to leds after the full-mux change but not right on RPO 9001.

You were right Steve, it has bulbs, I suspect I wouldn't have been asking the question otherwise as they would probably not have failed. I still have a problem though, neither the main or dipped beam indicator lights work, I have changed the bulbs but they still don't, any suggestions?
